The best social media scheduler for small business (2026)

By The Pinned team · Updated November 5, 2026 · 9 min read

I'm the founder of Pinned, so take my view of the best social media scheduler for small business with that in mind. I'll still point you to the tool I'd pick in your shoes, and for a lot of small businesses that isn't Pinned. Most owners need something cheap, quick to learn, and able to post to the places their customers actually look.

For a local business, that usually means Google Business Profile, Facebook and Instagram, and maybe TikTok. Buffer covers all four for a few dollars per channel. Pinned can't post to Google Business Profile or TikTok yet. Where Pinned fits is a small brand or Shopify store that wants the scheduler plus help with email, blog posts and planning in one plan.

What the best social media scheduler for small business has to handle

You don't have a social media manager. You have an hour on Sunday night, or a staff member who posts between customers. So the tool has to let you batch a few weeks of posts at once, then get out of the way.

Your customers also look in places a creator never thinks about. Google Business Profile posts show on your profile in Google Search and Maps, right where someone decides whether to visit. And social is one job among several: email, your website, and the shop itself.

Start with where your customers look

Local shops and services. Restaurants, salons, gyms and trades live on Google Business Profile, Facebook and Instagram. Pick a tool that posts to Google Business Profile, or use Google's own free scheduling.

Online stores. Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest and TikTok bring traffic; email and your blog bring it back. Here an all-in-one plan like Pinned's Business plan can replace a few tools, if you can live without TikTok and Pinterest posting for now.

B2B and professional services. LinkedIn first, then X (Twitter). Every paid tool here covers both. Meta Business Suite doesn't.

1. Buffer

Best for
owners who want something simple that posts everywhere their customers are
Price
Free for 3 channels; Essentials $5/channel/month billed yearly or $6 month to month; Team $10/channel/month billed yearly or $12 month to month
Posts to
Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, YouTube Shorts, Threads, Pinterest, Google Business Profile, Bluesky, Mastodon, Substack

Buffer is what I'd hand most shop owners. The free plan covers Facebook, Instagram and Google Business Profile with up to 10 scheduled posts each at a time. Five channels on Essentials cost $25/month billed yearly, and the community inbox handles comments on most networks, Google Business Profile included.

When a second person starts posting, Team adds unlimited team members, approval workflows, access levels and branded reports. The catch: it doubles the per-channel price.

2. Metricool

Best for
local businesses that run Facebook, Google or TikTok ads and want one report
Price
Free for 1 brand and 20 posts a month; Starter from $20/month billed yearly or $25 month to month for up to 5 brands
Posts to
Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Threads, Bluesky, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Google Business Profile; X as a paid add-on

Metricool connects your social accounts and your Facebook Ads, Google Ads and TikTok Ads accounts, so you see posts and paid results side by side. It also has a social inbox, and Starter adds PDF and PPT reports.

Know how it counts: a Metricool brand is one business with one profile per network, and each Google Business Profile location needs its own brand. X costs $10/month per account, and team roles and post approval start on Advanced, from $53/month billed yearly.

3. Meta Business Suite and Google Business Profile

Best for
businesses whose customers are only on Facebook, Instagram and Google
Price
Free
Posts to
Meta Business Suite: Facebook and Instagram; Google Business Profile: itself only

Before you pay anyone, look at what's already free. Meta Business Suite schedules posts and stories to your Facebook Page and Instagram from one calendar, with insights alongside. Google Business Profile lets you schedule a post for later and even repeat it weekly or monthly.

The trade-off is two tools and no TikTok, LinkedIn or X. For a cafe posting its weekly special to three places, that may be fine for years.

4. Pinned

Mine
Best for
Shopify stores and small brands on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and X that want marketing help, not only a queue
Price
Creator $39/month or $390/year for the scheduler; Business $100/month or $1,000/year per brand; 14-day free trial
Posts to
X, Instagram, Facebook Pages, Threads, LinkedIn, Bluesky, Discord, Shopify blog; TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest and Google Business Profile coming soon

On Creator, Pinned is a scheduler for up to 15 accounts with unlimited posts, plus a link in bio page with a contact form and a Google review button. Business adds four AI agents that draft calendars, post series, site audits and reports, with nothing going out until you click. It also adds an email builder (you send through your own Klaviyo account or paste the HTML into Mailchimp or Kit) and an SEO tool that writes Shopify blog articles and publishes only after you approve.

Two honest costs. The AI runs on your own key from Anthropic, OpenAI, Google or xAI, billed by that provider on top of the plan. And today Pinned can't post to Google Business Profile or TikTok, which rules it out for many local businesses until those are live.

5. SocialBee

Best for
owners who want a steady mix of evergreen posts without writing new ones each week
Price
Bootstrap $29/month or $290/year for 5 profiles; Accelerate $49/month or $490/year for 10 profiles; 14-day free trial
Posts to
Facebook, Instagram, Threads, LinkedIn, X, Pinterest, TikTok, YouTube, Google Business Profile, Bluesky

SocialBee sorts your posts into content categories, such as tips, promotions or customer stories. Mark a category evergreen and its posts requeue on their own, which suits a business that has 50 good posts and no time to write the 51st. AI content generation is unlimited on every plan, and it can import your blog posts by RSS. Accelerate adds post approval, a bulk editor and CSV uploads.

The catch: no free plan, and one user per workspace until Pro at $99/month. There's a 30-day money-back guarantee if it doesn't click.

6. Hootsuite

Best for
businesses with a steady flow of customer messages and the budget for a full suite
Price
Standard $99 per user/month billed yearly; 14-day free trial, no credit card
Posts to
Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Threads, X, TikTok, Bluesky, YouTube, Pinterest; Google Business Profile in the inbox only

Hootsuite is the big suite here. Standard manages up to 10 social accounts with unlimited scheduling, AI help with posts and images, one inbox for messages, and brand and competitor monitoring. If your social accounts are really a customer service desk, that inbox earns its price.

For a small shop, it's a lot: two people on Standard cost $198/month billed yearly, and approvals only arrive on Advanced at $399 per user/month billed yearly.

My pick

For a local business, I'd start with the free tools from Meta and Google, then move to Buffer when you want one calendar or need TikTok. If you also run ads, pick Metricool instead. Got a library of evergreen posts and no time? SocialBee.

I'd pick Pinned for a Shopify store or small brand on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and X that wants help with emails, blog posts and a content plan too. Hootsuite makes sense once customer messages are a daily job for several people.

What I'd do today

  1. Write down the 3 places your last 10 customers found you. Ask them if you don't know.
  2. Schedule next week's posts for free: Meta Business Suite for Facebook and Instagram, and Google Business Profile's own scheduler for Google.
  3. If that takes more than an hour, try Buffer's free plan with those same 3 channels.
  4. If you sell on Shopify and want blog posts and emails too, start the Pinned trial and connect your store and accounts.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best free social media scheduler for a small business?

If you only post to Facebook, Instagram and Google, the free built-ins are hard to beat: Meta Business Suite schedules Facebook and Instagram posts, and Google Business Profile can schedule its own posts. If you want one calendar, Buffer's free plan covers 3 channels, and Metricool's free plan covers 1 brand with up to 20 posts a month.

Which social media schedulers post to Google Business Profile?

Of the tools in this guide, Buffer, Metricool and SocialBee post to Google Business Profile, and Google's own dashboard can schedule posts too. Hootsuite connects it for the inbox only. Pinned can't yet: Google Business Profile is on its coming-soon list with TikTok, YouTube and Pinterest. If Google is where local customers find you, choose one of the others for now.

How much should a small business pay for a social media scheduler?

Often nothing at first. The free plans from Buffer and Metricool, plus Meta's and Google's own tools, carry many small businesses for a long time. Paid plans start at $5 per channel per month on Buffer and $20/month on Metricool, both billed yearly. Hootsuite starts at $99 per user/month billed yearly, which pays off with a team and a busy inbox.

Is Pinned a good fit for a local restaurant or salon?

Probably not yet, and I'd rather say that plainly. Local businesses need Google Business Profile posting, and many want TikTok, and Pinned can't post to either today. Its free link in bio page, with a contact form and a Google review button, can still be useful. Revisit the scheduler once Google Business Profile and TikTok are live.
