The SEO Tool dashboard shows how your blog is doing in search, which keywords are worth writing for, and what is coming up. A brand's page is where you import and sync its articles, check its languages and remove it.

Note

Available on the Business plan.

Before you start

  • Connect your store and add it as a brand. Until you do, the dashboard shows Connect a store to start with a Connect a store button. See Set up the SEO Tool.

Open the dashboard

  1. In the sidebar, click SEO Tool.

  2. Under the title, click Dashboard in the row of tabs.

The line under Dashboard says which brands you are looking at. Search figures cover the last 28 complete days, compared with the 28 days before. Google reports three days behind, so the newest days are missing.

If a brand has no articles yet, an Import existing posts first card appears. Follow it before you generate anything, so posts already on your blog are not written twice. See Import your articles below.

Read the tiles

Four tiles sit near the top:

  • Waiting on you: how many drafts need an image, a review or a publish click. Click the tile to open Need approval.
  • Background jobs: how many jobs are queued or running. It also notes any articles that are mid-generation or failed a check.
  • Published, last 30 days: posts that went live in the last 30 days, plus how many are live in total and how many are scheduled.
  • Keywords tracked: how many keywords the tool follows, split into those from Search Console, those you added yourself, and those already written.

Check search performance

Search performance needs Google Search Console. If it isn't connected, you see Connect Google Search Console.

  1. Click Open Settings.
  2. Connect Google there. See Connect Search Console and set a publishing schedule.
  3. Open each brand's Schedule tab and pick its Search Console property.

If Google is connected but no property is chosen yet, you see Pick a Search Console property with a button for each brand's Schedule tab.

Once a property is picked and synced, you see Clicks, Impressions, Avg. CTR and Avg. position. Each one shows the prior 28 days and how much it changed. For position, a lower number is better.

The chart Impressions and clicks per day shows the daily trend and when the last sync ran. If it says nothing has synced yet, the nightly sync adds one day at a time. Click Full analytics for the detailed view, also available under Analytics.

Check AI visibility

AI visibility (GEO) shows whether AI answer engines cite your store. Until it is set up, you see Set up AI search tracking. Click Open Settings to add engine keys.

If tracking is set up but nothing has run in the last 60 days, you see No runs in the last 60 days. Open a brand's AI visibility tab to queue a run.

Once there are runs, the table lists each engine with Share of voice, Cited and Last run. It uses the latest answer for each prompt from the last 60 days. Below it, you see how many answers did not cite you and who was cited instead. See Track search and AI visibility.

Write from the keyword table

The Keywords table lists up to eight keywords, with the most impressions first. It shows Pos., Impr., Clicks and CTR for each.

  1. Find a keyword you want to write about.
  2. Click Write on its row. A draft is queued for that keyword.

Keywords that already have a post show written instead of the button. Click all keywords → to open the brand's Keywords tab. See Manage your SEO keywords.

The Generate a blog post section further down does the same for a keyword you pick (Pick a keyword) or a topic you type (New topic). Click Generate draft to start. It runs in the background, usually one to three minutes. Drafts wait under Need approval until you approve them. See Write, review and publish blog posts.

See upcoming posts

Upcoming posts has a month calendar and a list.

  • The calendar counts what is published, scheduled, planned and waiting on you for the month. Use the arrow buttons on either side of the month name to move between months. When you are away from the current month, a Today link takes you back.
  • Planned slots sit on the Monday of their week until they run. Scheduled posts are published by Shopify at the time shown. All dates are UTC.
  • Up next lists up to 10 of the next posts that are scheduled, running or planned. A planned post waits for your approval after it runs. If nothing is coming, it tells you to turn scheduling on under a brand's Schedule tab or to generate a post.

Follow background work and recent activity

  • Background work appears when drafts, refreshes, localizations, AI visibility runs or syncs are queued, running or recently finished. They run one at a time, and each job shows as queued, running, done or failed. When a job finishes, it lands under Need approval, where a failed job has a Queue again button.
  • Stale localization appears when an English article was refreshed and its translations no longer match. Open the article and localize it again.
  • Recent activity lists the latest actions with When, Who, Action and Detail. The full history is in the Audit log.

Filter the dashboard by brand

When you have more than one brand, buttons appear next to Generate a post: All brands and one for each brand name.

  1. Click a brand name to narrow every figure on the page to that brand.
  2. Click All brands to go back to everything.

The calendar has its own brand toggles. Click a brand there to hide or show it. At least one brand always stays visible.

Open a brand's page

  1. Under the title, find the Brands row.

  2. Click the brand's name.

The top of the page shows the store address, the blog and your site address. Three tiles show Articles in database, Published and Identity guard expects.

Every brand page has the same tabs: Overview, Keywords, Schedule, Rulebook, Catalog, Links, Translations and AI visibility. The Rulebook tab shows its version number in parentheses once you have saved one, for example v3, or Rulebook (not set) if you haven't. See Set your SEO rulebook and style guides.

Import your articles

  1. On the brand's Overview tab, click Import articles from Shopify.
  2. Wait for the page to reload. A message tells you how many articles were read and how many are published.
  3. Compare that total with the blog posts in your Shopify admin under Online Store.

Once the brand has articles, the button reads Re-import articles from Shopify.

Sync edits from Shopify

Click Sync from Shopify to pull in edits you made in your Shopify admin. This also runs every hour on its own. A message at the top of the page says what was synced.

Check languages and auto-translate

Languages & auto-translate tells you which languages the brand is translated into, or that no languages are picked yet. Next to it, a label shows whether auto-translate is on, paused or auto-translate off. When it is on, the page shows how many translations are live and how many need attention. When it is paused, it says why and points you to the Translations tab. Click Open Translations to change any of this. See Translate your store automatically.

Read the corpus

Corpus lists the brand's articles with Title, Handle, Status, Words and Published / scheduled. The newest come first, and up to 200 are shown. A scheduled post shows the UTC time it goes live. When a scheduled time has passed, the page confirms the post with Shopify, marks it published and tells you how many posts it confirmed.

Remove a brand

Only a workspace admin can remove a brand.

  1. On the brand's Overview tab, scroll to Remove this brand.
  2. Click Remove this brand.
  3. Read the confirmation and confirm.

The articles, keywords, rulebook versions, catalog and schedule kept for the brand are deleted, and any queued work for it is dropped. Nothing changes in Shopify: published articles stay live and the store stays connected to Pinned.

Warning

Removing a brand cannot be undone.

Troubleshooting

The search performance section has no numbers

Check that Google is connected under Settings and that the brand has a Search Console property picked on its Schedule tab. After the first sync, the nightly sync adds one day at a time.

Write is greyed out

The brand is missing something the tool needs. Scroll to Generate a blog post, which lists what is missing. It may be an AI model on the Connections page or a key under Settings, or an approved source domain in the brand's rulebook. See Set up the SEO Tool and Set your SEO rulebook and style guides.

The Keywords table says there are no Search Console readings

Pick a property on the brand's Schedule tab and sync. The searches Google already shows you for appear here once it has synced. You can also add your own keywords on the brand's Keywords tab.

The Corpus says no articles are imported

Click Import articles from Shopify on the brand's Overview tab. If it still shows nothing, ask in the community Discord or email support@pinned.gg.
