You can log in to Pinned with an email and password, with Google, or with X. Use the Sign-in methods list on the Connections page to add or remove a method or to set or change your password. The account menu in the sidebar lets you switch between accounts on the same device.

See your sign-in methods

  1. In the sidebar, under Account, click Connections. You can also open Connections directly.

  2. Scroll down to Sign-in methods.

The list has three cards: Email & password, Google and X / Twitter. Keep at least one method so you can always log in. The text under the heading says the same: a password or a connected provider.

Add Google as a sign-in method

  1. In Sign-in methods, find the Google card.
  2. Click Connect. The button reads Authorizing… while Pinned sends you to Google.
  3. Choose your Google account and approve.
  4. When you land back on the Connections page, the Google card shows Connected, with the date it was linked.

From then on you can log in with your Google account.

Add X as a sign-in method

The X / Twitter card in Sign-in methods has no button of its own. It follows the X account you connect for posting.

  1. Scroll up to Social integrations.
  2. On the X / Twitter card, click Connect.
  3. Approve the connection on X.

Back in Sign-in methods, the X / Twitter card now shows Connected and says it's the same account as the integration above. Until then it reads "Connect X above to also sign in with it". For more on connecting X, see Connect your social accounts.

Remove Google as a sign-in method

  1. In Sign-in methods, find the Google card.
  2. Click Disconnect.

If Pinned can't disconnect Google, it's usually because Google is your only way to log in. Set a password first, then try again.

Set or change your password

The Email & password card shows Password set when you already have a password. If you don't, it reads "No password set" and suggests using "Forgot password?" on the login page. The button on the card is Change password or Set password. Both take you to the same reset page.

  1. On the Email & password card, click Change password (or Set password).

  2. On the Reset your password page, type the email you signed up with in the Email field.

  3. Click Send reset link.

  4. The page now reads Check your inbox. Open the email from Pinned and click the link. The link works for 1 hour. If it doesn't arrive, check your spam folder.

  5. On the Set a new password page, type your new password in New password. It must be at least 8 characters.

  6. Type it again in Confirm new password.

  7. Click Save new password.

Your old password stops working immediately. Pinned then takes you to the login page, where you log in with the new one.

When Pinned asks you to choose a new password

After you log in, Pinned may ask you to choose a new password before you continue. Follow the steps on that page. If you don't remember your current password, reset it by email as described in the previous section.

Use several Pinned accounts on one device

You can stay logged in to more than one Pinned account on the same device and switch between them from the sidebar.

Add another account

  1. At the bottom of the sidebar, click the button with your name and plan.
  2. In the menu, click Add account.
  3. Log in to the other Pinned account on the login page.

Switch accounts

  1. At the bottom of the sidebar, click the button with your name and plan.
  2. In the menu, click the other account. Each one is listed with its name and email.

The menu shows Switching… and then opens that account's dashboard.

Log out

The same menu has Account settings and a log out button. With one account on the device it reads Log out. With more than one it reads Log out of all accounts, which logs you out of every account on the device.

Troubleshooting

Reset links work for 1 hour. Pinned shows "That reset link is invalid or has expired. Request a new one below." Enter your email and click Send reset link again.

The reset email doesn't arrive

Check your spam folder first. Pinned shows the same message whether or not an account exists for the email you type, so make sure it's the exact email you signed up with. If the email isn't in a valid format, Pinned asks you to enter the email you signed up with.

Pinned says the password is too short or the passwords don't match

A new password needs at least 8 characters, and the two password fields must match exactly. Pinned shows "Password must be at least 8 characters." or "Passwords don't match." Fix the fields and try again.

Google or X is already connected to a different Pinned account

Pinned shows a message that the social account is already connected to a different Pinned account, perhaps an old or test account of yours. Log in to that other account and remove the connection there, then connect it again. If you can't, open a request from the Support page. See Get help from Pinned support.
